Our Little Gymnast

Yesterday was Stella's final gymnastics class for this session. She has a small meet to show the parents what she has learned. She catches on so quick to it all & does her best every time. I am so proud of her. At the end of the meet, Stella received her very first medal!!! She was also moved up to Level 2:) WAY TO GO, STELLA!!!! Hopefully she will have the same instructor because she really works well with her. Congrats to my little girl!!!! You are AWESOME!

Where did the last 6 months go???

I can't believe I am typing a post about Drake's 6 month b-day! I could cry just thinking about it. It really has just flown by. Actually he doesn't turn 6 months until next Tuesday, but we went in for his 6 month check up this week so the doctor could also take a look at his ears.

So here are the stats: Head Circumference~ 42.3 cm.
Height~ 24 1/4 inches
Weight~ 14 pounds 1 ounce

As you may have guessed my little boy is quite small (which by the way...I LOVE!!!!) He is in the 5th percentile of weight & height. His doctor couldn't believe how much he was talking & even made the comment about how smart he is. Stella was trying to show her little brother off & asked Drake where his feet were & he grabbed one of them & put it in his mouth. ha! He is really trying to move these days. He really works hard at trying to get to toys but can't quite figure it out. It will come soon enough. No rush on a mobile baby! He sits up well on his own, loves to give hugs & kisses. His new thing is rubbing men's facial hair. He loves his daddy's & over the weekend enjoyed sitting with his Uncle Matt & doing the same to him. I think while Courtney & I were upstairs Uncle Matt was giving him a talk about women. He is still quite attached to me, but he is getting better.

He got to spend some time with his favorite neighbors, Jill & Kyle Rhodes, last night. They watched him & Riley for us while we ventured to Kindergarten round up with Stella. As most of you know Jill & Kyle are getting ready to have their first child...a little girl. I think Drake might have given them a taste of what they are in for. He played for about 20 minutes, Jill said & then he cried forever. We all agree he is teething. He wants to bite everything! When we arrived Jill had got him to sleep. She is a natural. Thanks guys!

Well anyway. Here are some recent pics of Drake. Enjoy!

icky,sicky!

It's been a while since my last post. This may be due to the fact that Drake was sick 2 weeks ago & ever since then he has been attached to my hip (literally). I think he is going through early separation anxiety. He is a very smart baby. He already knows when he is at the doctor & thanks to the story I'm about to tell you, he cries the minute we arrive.

So as I said before he started coughing the weekend my sister, Courtney, moved back & it progressed to stuffiness, fussiness, pulling at his ears, etc. Then that Thursday he had a pretty high fever & his cough was significantly worse. So, we went to visit the doctor. Thank goodness we did. He had a double ear infection & pneumonia. the pneumonia was caught early & wasn't too severe, so I was able to treat him at home. This was our first sick visit & it wasn't easy on Drake. After being poked at by the nurse & doctor, I then had to take him to the lab so they could take blood (OUCHY!) & then straight to X-ray for his chest. Of course, they didn't get a good enough picture the first time they traumatized him so they had to do it all again. It was horrible. By the time they took him in for the second time, I was crying. So after like 3 hours at the doctor we head to the pharmacy & to home. So, I had to take him back the next day for a follow up. He freaked out when he saw where he was & one of his ears was worse so he had to get a shot of Rocephin. Now it's all over...he won't let me leave his side. He is slowly getting better about it. Anyway, his ear infection is gone & so is the pneumonia. He is sort of back to his normal self. On to more blogs:)
